Start with the news release Inverters cut variable-speed motor control costs from Nord Gear, which we summarised at the time by saying "A new family of compact frequency inverters from Nord Gear UK can be adapted easily to suit specific applications - from simple speed control of AC motors, to complex movement automation". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release Drives for top-notch DaimlerChrysler 'Sprinter' from Control Techniques: "More than 800 AC drives, supplied by Control Techniques, have been installed in the new 'Sprinter' production facility in the DaimlerChrysler Ludwigsfelde plant, near Berlin".

In January 2008, we covered the news from Phoenix Contact concerning its ILC 390 PN - take a look at Safety technology supports Interbus and Profinet which says: "Safety technology with the Interbus fieldbus system is, alongside the Ethernet standard Profinet, an integral part of the Automationworx automation solution from Phoenix Contact".

Take a look also at the news release from Phoenix Contact, Safe PLCopen modules, as well as Safety technology in inline installations from Phoenix Contact, and Fieldbus slave modules for PLC systems from Vipa UK.
