Vortex meters filter out noise

An Aalborg product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Jun 16, 2008

The Aalborg vortex shedding flowmeters are designed to measure liquid, gas, and steam flows

In-line models, available with wafer, flange, or insertion mountings, are highly accurate (+/-0.5% of rate).

In addition, they guarantee reliability (no moving parts to wear or fail) and low maintenance (no holes to clog and no fluid-to-sensor contact).

The unique dual signal processing technology in these vortex meters independently measures each vortex on either side of the bluff body, increasing the noise cancellation.

This results in higher accuracy throughout the flow range.

Additional advantages include the high turndown ratio of up to 80:1 and improved accuracy at low flows.

* Outputs available are analogue 4-20mA DC into 600 ohm max, with digital RS-232.

* Performance: Repeatability +/- 0.25% of rate.

* Response time 0.5 sec.

* Voltage 115/230 VAC selectable or 24 VDC All Aalborg vortex meters have NIST Traceable Calibration and are individually programmed for each application.
