Compressors have reduced energy
consumption
ABAC UK has launched a new range of rotary screw air compressors that reduce energy consumption by as much as 35% through the use of variable-speed and SCD technology
The new ALUP Allegro range features a direct-drive system that delivers high levels of operating efficiency and energy savings for a variety of process, manufacturing and other industrial applications With capacities ranging from 0.51 to 41.95 cubic metres/min (18 to 1,481 cubic feet/min), the ALUP Allegro delivers a constant air pressure that is easily controlled to meet the changing operating or shift requirements of modern factory or workshop environments

Matching output with demand, the new compressors minimise excessive over pressure in the air generation, thereby reducing energy consumption and associated costs - for example leaks.
In contrast with conventional screw compressors, these savings can reach a staggering 35%.
The ALUP Allegro direct-drive and variable-speed technology is further complemented by the utilisation of highly efficient air ends, coupled with a high efficiency IP-55 H rated motor to generate a constant air pressure of between 5 bar and 13 bar.

As a result of the unique wide range of models in the Allegro series, a greater choice of capacities is available, allowing the customer to select the correct model for their needs and thus take maximum advantage of the variable-speed concept, therefore realising maximum energy savings.
While discussing the new variable-speed air compressors, Nick Poole, Director at ABAC, noted that the extensive ALUP Allegro range meets a variety of operating specifications.
"The direct-drive arrangement, unique variable-speed technology and the use of a high-efficiency motor gives the Allegro a significant performance advantage over competing technologies.
More importantly, with 16 models to choose from, you can optimise the whole concept of variable-speed technology by selecting the compressor(s) that best suits your air pressure and pattern of use, thus avoiding the typical cost penalties usually associated with over-pressurisation, under performance and inefficient controls".
With motor powers ranging from 16kW to 260kW, the flexible ALUP Allegro range is able to meet the needs of most industrial, process and manufacturing compressed-air applications.
In addition, with air ends offering excellent efficiency throughout the entire working range and a unique electronic control system that can be used to monitor, record, adjust, shut down and start-up multiple machine installations, the ALUP Allegro variable-speed air compressors are as flexible as they are efficient.
