High level conductivity option on AX400
analyser
The ABB range of AnalyzeIT AX400 on-line analysers has been extended with the launch of its AX430 single input and AX433 dual input high level conductivity transmitters
The ABB range of AnalyzeIT AX400 on-line analysers has been extended with the launch of its AX430 single input and AX433 dual input high level conductivity transmitters These new transmitters bring a cost effective and versatile means of maintaining wash-solution strengths in bottle washing processes, concentration monitoring in Cleaning in Place (CIP) plants, regeneration of ion exchange columns in power generation applications and control of conductivity and pH for processes in the pulp and paper industry

This function prevents the triggering of spurious alarms by overriding the long dose alarm to allow sufficient time for fresh cleaning solution to be made up to the correct strength.
The transmitters also feature integrated three-term PID control.
As well as eliminating wastage through precise control of reagent dosing, this feature also cuts the cost of an installation by removing the need for separate controllers.
The AX433 dual input version also enables users to dose both alkali and acid in ion exchange regeneration applications using the same transmitter, giving a 30% cost saving over the use of two separate transmitters.
The same cost saving can also be achieved in Cleaning in Place (CIP) and pulp and paper applications.
For general water quality monitoring, the AX436 provides simultaneous measurements of pH and high level conductivity from a single unit.
Output signal transmission is by traditional current outputs or alternatively with Profibus DP digital communication.
For users wishing to upgrade their monitoring capability and achieve greater utility from their available data, ABB AX 400 analysers support a comprehensive set of add-on options.
An optional plug-in 'add-on feature board' for example, can be easily added to double the number of isolated current outputs to four and increase the number of available alarm relays to five, making the AX430 and AX433 ideal for the majority of industrial process applications.
ABB also supplies a comprehensive selection of rugged and virtually maintenance-free conductivity cells that can be used with the AX430 and AX433 analysers.
Available with a wide variety of mounting options, including retractable and insertion, and in a variety of models, including versions for high temperature, pressure and chemical resistance, these conductivity cells deliver high performance in even the most demanding applications.
ABB AnalyzeIT AX400 analysers are supplied as standard for 85 to 265V AC operation.
To meet the move to safe working practices, which is increasingly becoming a standard across industry, the instrument can also be provided with 24V AC or 12 to 30V DC operation.
If a low voltage option is utilised, no safety tests or extra personnel are required to meet safety procedures, further adding to the unit's overall cost effectiveness.
All AX400 Series analysers are available for either wall-/pipe or panel-mounting and are rated to IP66/NEMA 4X, making them suitable for installation in any location.
