ABLE have recently developed a pioneering new Hydrogen Sulphide analyser solution for applications where H2S concentration needs to be monitored in unattended, remote locations At the heart of the solution lies the renowned Jerome 631-XE analyser, developed by Arizona Instruments, which uses a patented gold film sensor

The sensor's selectivity to hydrogen sulphide eliminates interferences from sulphur dioxide, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and water vapours.

The unit offers an analysis range of 0.003 - 50 ppm for odour and corrosion control, safety, and leak detection in such industries as wastewater treatment, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and farming.

A GSM modem module and an intelligent data collection unit (IDCU), capable of delivering recorded H2S data to any PC, email address or website worldwide, provide the remote data logging and distribution logistics.

An internal option board on the Jerome 631-XE analyser allows auto zeroing, DC power operation, timed regeneration, and timed sampling during unattended sampling periods.

Using the GSM modem, the IDCU can be configured to either email this data or transfer the data to a website using the file transfer protocol (FTP).

Alternatively, the data can be retrieved by calling the IDCU directly from a PC using a standard modem to download the recorded data.

This system was developed by ABLE to cater for applications where H2S detection and monitoring is required in unmanned remote locations.

However, the GSM modem and IDCU package can be applied to a multitude of instrumentation, providing a truly remote data logging solution.
