Top marks for Aberdeen hands-on training
course
Able Instruments and Controls has successfully delivered the first training course at their purpose built process-training centre in Dyce, Aberdeen
The fully booked course offered delegates an "Introduction to Coriolis Mass Flow Meters" with a large proportion of hands-on practical training The delegates were able to commission and troubleshoot the installed Coriolis meters on the process rig to apply the course theory and truly gain practical understanding of how a Coriolis flowmeter operates

Able will be exhibiting at the largest oil and gas industry sector exhibition, Offshore Europe 2003, with the largest ever mass flow meter: see it in Aberdeen for 4 days from 2-5 September 2003
Due to the high demand, further delegates have already enrolled for the next scheduled course in February.
The course is aimed at Instrument Engineers, Design Engineers and Engineering buyers, who have a basic understanding of flow metering, and who want to learn about Coriolis theory and how it has been applied to mass flow metering.
No experience with Coriolis flowmeters is necessary for this introductory course.
The one-day course objective is to enable delegates to:.
* Describe and understand how Coriolis meters operate.
* Generate a specification for a Coriolis meter.
* Understand fundamentals to install and commission a Coriolis flowmeter.
* Apply Coriolis technology correctly.
* Troubleshoot and diagnose operating problems.
As with all the Able training courses, the "Introduction to Coriolis Mass Flow Meters" course will be run on a regular schedule at the Aberdeen training centre, which has already created much interest within the Aberdeen offshore community.
The training rig covers a total floor space of 200m2 with over 100 meters on 4inch flow lines, giving the opportunity for practical sessions on all common process instrumentation.
Live images of the rig can be view via the website.
Feedback from the course was a great boost for this new training venture for Able.
All delegates said they would recommend the course to others, and the majority of course grading was excellent.
Reviews included:.
* "Excellent course and well pitched - even to non-instrument biased personnel" - Apache North Sea.
* "very impressive demo rig and presentation style, relaxed atmosphere, pleasure to attend" -Project Design and Management Services.
