Advanced Dynamics is targeting the UK food industry with an exciting hygienic stainless steel version of its best selling LB-2 friction tray feeder and wrapping machine

Advanced Dynamics is targeting the UK food industry with an exciting hygienic stainless steel version of its best selling LB-2 friction feeder.

The company has been selling KoRa-Packmat friction feeders for many years, but this is the first time that it has introduced a food variant.

Simple to operate, the trays for dispensing are placed onto a conveyor which then allows them to be filled with sliced food.

The trays can be filled with a variety of food products including slices of cheese, vegetables and cut meats, all at a controlled feeding rate.

The system then feeds the foam filled plastic trays through to a packaging machine for over-wrapping with a transparent or re-closable flow pack.

In a recent German cheese installation, the machine was able to attain a massive 100 cycles per minute.

The LB-2 friction feeder is ideal for feeding almost any flat product: in addition to food trays, it can be used for beer-mats, plasters, DVD inserts, software and numerous related items.

Depending on the size, the feeding rate can be set at up to 800 products per minute and owing to its compact design, the friction feeder can be integrated into most production lines.

Designed for rugged use, even the control panel of the friction feeder has been manufactured in stainless steel and then inserted in a wire protective cage to avoid damage.

Other key features of the KoRa-Packmat LB-2 feeder includes a synchronised feeding and batch counting system for small and delicate products.

The machine is available with the option of a stainless steel auto-loader for product feeding.

Other options offered include a start photocell, which in the case of the German cheese installation enabled the machine to be activated remotely.

Advanced Dynamics joint managing director, Mike Essler says: "We decided to introduce a new stainless steel version of the LB-2 friction feeder system to enable us to offer the system to the food market, which we have previously not been able to target.

The new model, available from the start of January, has already created a large amount of interest".

KoRa-Packmat designed its original models for feeding paper type products into a packaging line.

Now with the advent of a stainless steel version the company is able to offer its machines to a much wider audience.

The LB-2 friction feeder is one of a number of different KoRa-Packmat models exclusively distributed in the UK and Ireland by Advanced Dynamics.

The company has a large installed customer base, with equipment installed to perform a variety of tasks, mainly in the packaging and printing industries.
