The breakthrough formula comprises bio-oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film with a solvent-less adhesive coating which grips but does not stick on contact with itself.
This brilliantly eliminates the need for paper backing, an advance which translates into a significant saving in print time and increased label output.
Due to the lack of a backing strip, the linear amount per roll of labels is doubled, giving a 50% reduction in label change-over time.

The resultant cost savings give this solution obvious appeal but there is an aesthetic pay off to liner-less labelling; removing the potential for any possible paper flecks or adhesive ticks gives the label a pristine, untarnished finish.
The enhanced graphic presentation delivers more "shout from the shelf".
The success of the system, which is already popular in Italy, is attributed to the Irplast knowledge of the technological developments in machinery.
It fits easily into an existing packaging line and can be customised to accommodate different product shapes.
All labels are dispensed using an end of line compact labelling machine that can be adapted on almost any packaging line.
The system uses a variety of applications including primary labelling, multi-pack labelling and re-seal features which maintain freshness in coffee, pasta and dried fruit.
Irplast has developed three specific patented solutions, these comprise: 'Take Away' which is formulated to contain multi-sales as the clarity and quality of the label upholds the brand integrity.
The water-based adhesive formula will not compromise the primary packaging when it is removed.
It is available in a range of formats and accommodates plastic bottles (PET and PE) as well as multi-layer laminates, rigid and flexible packaging and boxes and cases.
Round shaped bottles can be grouped up to three, and square shaped drinks cartons up to six.
Bar codes and indicators for product traceability can be printed.
Complimentary 'Label Tape' is a wraparound solution which delivers primary labelling, with the advantage of partial or complete adhesive coating for easy tear off.
The final member of the trio is 'Label Plastic' which can be morphed to the product shape, offering protection from scratching due to reverse printing.
It also covers greater areas accommodating more information.
Advanced Dynamics joint managing director, Malcolm Little, whose company distributes the Irplast labelling system and labels, says: "I am delighted and excited to be able to offer this revolutionary solution which effectively raises the bar in UK food presentation, handling and packaging".
