Adept offers modelling and simulation products

An Adept Scientific product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Nov 6, 2009

Maplesoft has introduced several products, available from Adept Scientific, that are intended to help engineers better manage the complexity of engineering modelling and simulation problems.

Maplesim, an advanced solution for physical modelling, together with a collection of new toolboxes, enables fast model development and analysis and the creation of complex multi-domain models.

Maplesim 3 has a rich modelling platform that has been enhanced for this release.

Modelling capabilities have been extended with new component libraries for hydraulics and electrical machines and refined solvers that handle even greater model complexity.

New user-interface features lead to a faster development time and a smoother workflow.

Maplesim's core symbolic technology produces equation-based models, which provide the best possible real-time performance in key application areas such as hardware-in-the-loop simulation, according to the company.

Built on a foundation of a symbolic computation engine, Maplesim offers a range of advanced analysis tools, supporting sensitivity analysis, optimisation and advanced visualisation techniques.

The Maplesim Control Design Toolbox provides a solid set of control design tools that extend Maplesim's plant modelling capabilities to support control design.

This toolbox takes advantage of the symbolic approach for designing, analysing and testing control systems.

By developing plants and controllers together in the Maplesim environment, the development process is accelerated and tool-switching costs are reduced.

Maplesim increases the reusability of controller designs through built-in technical documentation tools.

The Maplesim Labview Connector toolbox integrates Maplesim's modelling environment into the Labview real-time platform from National Instruments.

Engineers using Labview can develop and optimise complex engineering system models in the visual modelling environment of Maplesim.

This new toolbox joins the Maplesim Simulink Connector (formerly known as the Maplesim Connectivity Toolbox), which provides enhanced connectivity with Simulink and Real-Time Workshop.

When combined, these products ensure that Maplesim connects to all real-time platforms.

As part of its improved engineering solution offering, Maplesoft has also announced an expansion of its Application Engineering Division, with the intention of providing timely modelling and consultation assistance and helping the rapid deployment of new techniques in engineering projects.
