scenta, the information and online services provider, and Adiuri Systems are to promote a vital new business tool: Cyana:Engineering, for accessing engineering information available on the 'Deep Web'

A partnership has been announced today between scenta, the information and online services provider created by the Engineering and Technology Board (etb), and Adiuri Systems, to promote a vital new business tool: Cyana:Engineering It is estimated that the free Web search engines access less than 1% of what actually exists on the Internet

Engineers are therefore potentially being starved of 99% of what could be available to help them do their jobs better.

The highest quality information resides within what has come to be known as the 'Deep Web'.

This is a domain that is generally inaccessible to normal Internet users and is estimated as being several hundred times the bigger than the public or 'Surface' Web.

scenta and Adiuri Systems have a shared objective in alleviating this problem.

Cyana:Engineering, promoted and supported by scenta, delivers access to selected content from the deep web for engineers in the UK.

It uses the unique Adiuri 'Waypoint' search system to provide access to highly-tailored online information for the engineering sectors.

Launched initially in trial form in April 2004, it is designed to cut through the hundreds of results pages often returned by the free search engines and provide access to the Deep Web.

The new partnership coincides with the market launch of the Cyana:Engineering service.

This now provides access to thousands of documents from latest product information through to academic research, materials information and learned journals.

With the support of scenta, Adiuri will deliver Cyana:Engineering to a wider audience in the SET community.

Free trials are still available for this system via the website.

Steven Wood, Business Development Manager at scenta states that "This partnership takes a significant step towards meeting the scenta objectives of providing engineers with the best available on-line resources".

We believe that the Deep web is by far the most valuable source of information and Cyana:Engineering provides the access that is needed".

Chris Clemence of Adiuri Systems supports this view.

"Cyana:Engineering is an important component in the developing portfolio of scenta services" he states.

"It will, without doubt, become essential to the well-informed professional in the engineering community:.

scenta is the online services provider created in 2003 by the Engineering and Technology Board (etb).
