AMEC, the international project management and services company, has won a second major contract on the USD3.5billion petrochemical expansion project located in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region of China

AMEC, the international project management and services company, has been appointed by Petrochina Dushanzi Petrochemical Company as the Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT) contractor for the management of safety, health and environmental and quality assurance and control on the Dushanzi Refinery and Ethylene Technical Reformation project, in western China The multi-million dollar contract begins immediately and will run for two years

The company was appointed in August 2005 to provide project management, engineering, planning, cost management, safety, health and environment, quality assurance and other related consultancy service together with its proprietary project management software, Convero.

"The Dushanzi contracts reinforce our position as a growing services provider in China, where we have worked for more than 70 years, " said Tony Cruddas, President - Growth Regions, AMEC Natural Resources: "China's oil, gas and petrochemicals production is having to keep pace with the country's rapid industrial and economic growth, and we are delighted that our project management, safety and technical expertise has a role to play".
