AMEC wins mining sector contract with
PotashCorp
AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, has been awarded a new contract with PotashCorp at the Rocanville Potash mine in Saskatchewan, Canada
The four-year contract for the provision of engineering and project management services will see a USD1.8billion expansion of the mine, enabling the production of an additional two million tonnes of potash per year This will be achieved through the engineering and project management for a new mill as well as expansion of the site utilities, storage and loadout facilities

This increasing demand for potash, which is used in fertiliser, is being driven primarily by the rising global population and protein-rich diets.
With large low-cost potash operations, plans to significantly expand capacity and strategic global investments, PotashCorp has an unmatched ability to meet the needs of both North American and growing offshore markets.
