Scotland
AEA helps produce the progress report on the first assessment of the implementation of 'Choosing Our Future' the plan for Scotland's sustainable development strategy
AEA project management were contracted to undertake some of the research used to inform the findings of the first assessment of progress towards sustainability in Scotland, published recently by the Sustainable Development Commission Scotland AEA carried out the research using a variety of existing government statistics, interviews with leading experts, chief civil servants and government agencies, and also compiled some of the statistics itself

The report looked at 21 key indicators: of these 12 showed significant progress, 3 showed little or no change, and 5 have deteriorated.
One indicator, although measurable was not felt to be meaningful.
Alan Hendry, Programme Development Manager at AEA said: "This is a very interesting project which shows how Scotland has progressed to date in its sustainable development objectives.
These objectives show how government intends to use the principles of sustainable development to work on economic, social and environmental issues simultaneously.
AEA has a lot of experience in collecting, collating and applying research and we have added value to this important initiative".
