Compass lamp saved from obsolescence by
Aerco
Aerco, a company that has distributed lamps for over 50 years to the MOD, aviation, industrial and commercial markets has rescued a copper based, filament lamp from obsolescence
The copper based filament lamp was especially designed for use in systems that use a magnetic compass for navigation The 28VDC, 0.04amp, S6s/8, midget flange, platinum filament, 15.8 x 6.3mm, non-magnetic, copper-based lamp has actually been obsolete since 1999
Aerco has now reinstated this lamp, NATO stock ref: 6240.99.995-9121, by placing an order for 5,000, the minimum quantity that was viable for the manufacturer.
Aerco now holds 500 of such lamps in stock at all times.
