The miniature RBS310400 Opto Tip-over switch uses a silicon photo transistor and infrared emitting diode internal design to give a signal when the tip-over switch is tipped from the vertical position

The RBS310400 Opto Tip-over switch has been modified to offer a more accurate switching operation The switch uses a silicon photo transistor and infrared emitting diode internal design to give a signal when the tip-over switch is tipped from the vertical position in any direction

This design has many advantages over ball contacts, which can suffer from variable contact resistance and contact bounce.

The 310400 switch has an expected life of many millions of operations and its compact size of 10mm square makes it easy to fit onto a pcb.

In addition to the tip-over switch the RBS310500 range of tilt switches offers a wide range of switching angles and on/off, on/off/on contact styles.
