Improved paddle flow switches
Improved paddle flow switches are now available from Active Switch and Sensor that have explosion proof housing options, with an adjustable length stainless steel paddle
The SF70 and SF80 range of paddle flow switches has now been replaced by the SF1710 and SF1800 range.
Changes have been made to the construction of the switch housing and the certification of the SF1710 has been raised to explosion proof.
This enables the switch to be used in explosive or potentially flammable environments and extends its application into hazardous control and chemical processes.
Both switches use a reed switch contact activated by the flow of liquid moving a spring-loaded magnet.
The length of the paddle can be modified by the user to change the volume activation rate.
The switch has an aluminium housing and a stainless steel paddle which is resilient in most liquids and can monitor the flow up to 150DegC.
Contacts are rated at 30watts and 0-200Vdc and are SPDT style (single pole/double throw).
The switch is of a robust construction and can be used in most control and process environments by simply threading through the pipe wall with a 1 inch NPT thread.
