At the ARC Advisory Group "Winning Strategies for Global Manufacturers" Forum, CIDX Executive Director John Wheeler will explore issues facing chemical companies as they seek to do business in today's high growth, increasingly global, highly regulated, competitive environment.
He will identify bottlenecks for further productivity including the issues that arise when companies' information tools are not well integrated and interoperable.
This talk will explore the need to understand chemical companies integrated business processes and the information that represents them.
Wheeler will also discuss how companies should approach this effort to build a more virtual organization including the creation of process and data standards that allow all elements of the organization to work in real time, full collaboration to achieve needed results.
Wheeler recently joined the Chemical Industry Data Exchange (CIDX), which has served the chemical industry for over 25 years by creating Information Technology standards that enhance the ability to do business within the sector.
CIDX recently announced plans to expand its traditional standards activities from a focus on eBusiness B2B initiatives (Chem eStandards) to include a focus on improving interoperability and information exchange between customers and procurement vendors and chemical companies.
CIDX (Chemical Industry Data Exchange) is a non-profit, global association whose mission is to improve the ease, speed and cost of securely conducting business with the chemical industry.
By creating and enhancing Chem eStandards, CIDX works with member companies and associate member vendors to serve as the voice of the chemical industry in the development and implementation of cross industry business process and information technology and data interoperability standards.
John Wheeler is Executive Director of CIDX, and retired Senior VP and CIO of Nova Chemicals.
The ARC Advisory Group meeting is scheduled for 26 June at the Marriott Long Wharf in Boston.
