Disinfection for Europe's largest
swimming pool
Alldos equipment was chosen for the measurement, control and dosing systems of a massive outdoor swimming pool of lake-size proportions in Frankfurt, and has passed the peak Summer demand tests!
A swimming pool of lake-size proportions measuring 11,000 square metres adorns the completely redeveloped ground-level and subterranean workings of the Frankfurt Freibad Brentano From September 2005 to April 2006, the Brentano pool in Frankfurt am Main was completely modernised at a cost of around Euro 3 million

New from Alldos, the Primus 208 Plus 3 system dosing pump is designed for use with gassing chemicals such as sodium hypochlorite
Measuring up to 220 metres long, 60 metres wide and with a water surface area of 11,000 square metres it is currently the largest open-air swimming pool in Europe.
We are very happy that Baderbetriebe Frankfurt (BBF) also chose Alldos equipment for the measurement, control and dosing systems involved in this major project.
Two years ago, BBF decided to equip their swimming pools in Frankfurt with Alldos water disinfection products and systems.

The pool operators also wanted to stick with this approach for Europe's largest open-air swimming pool and benefit from the outstanding expertise Alldos has gained over decades of working in swimming pool water treatment.
The new Brentano pool has the appearance of a large idyllic lake, bordered by hedges and trees and with a gently inclined shore in the area for non-swimmers.
Under its concrete base is a fresh water supply system boasting some 1,100 vertical inlet nozzles.
More than 10,000 metres of piping with a diameter of up to 600 mm has been laid underground.
Some 800 litres of freshly treated pool water flow through the filter system (four steel filters measuring approximately 6 m in diameter) every second.
This is the equivalent of five full bath tubs.
The coloured plastic laminate on the bottom of the pool is also new.
It changes from a deep blue in the swimmer's area, to light blue in the non-swimmer's area and a sand colour in the beach area.
The baptism of fire for the pool, this Summer, is already passed - with some 10,000 visitors a day and temperatures reaching 35C, all parameters - whether chlorine content or pH value - have been perfectly maintained.
The following Alldos products helped achieve this.
* Two TrueDos 209 digital dosing pumps with the Plus3 calibration system for precise dosing of PAC flocculants.
* One TrueDos 209 for pH value correction.
* Two Aquaserver compact measuring systems with pressure-proof measuring cell and hydromechanical electrode cleaning.
* Seven 113 chlorine gas dosing units with servomotor for the addition of chlorine gas.
* Four GS 146 vacuum regulators for direct installation on the chlorine gas drums, with pressure gauge and liquid trap .
* One 189 vacuum change-over device for automatically changing over gas containers.
* One Gasdetect 307 gas warning unit . Request a free brochure from Grundfos Alldos ...
