Dosing pump with integrated flow monitor
Alldos, a Grundfos Company, has won the Technical Innovation of the Year Award at the 2006 UK Pump Industry Awards ceremony, for their digital dosing pump with integrated flow monitor
This year's Pump Industry Awards ceremony, held on October 17th at the Royal Court Hotel in Coventry brought together companies and individuals from the entire spectrum of the pump industry.
Designed to promote best practice within manufacturing and the supply chain, specific areas included technical innovation of the year, environmental/energy saving award, manufacturer of the year, distributor of the year, supplier of the year and young pump engineer of the year.
80 companies in total entered for the 6 awards with 26 entering specifically for the Technical Innovation award, which was won by Alldos for their 'Digital Dosing Pump with integrated Flow Monitor'.
For years, engineers have been using external flow switches to determine if a dosing pump is dosing or not.
The TrueDos Flow Monitor digital dosing pumps offer this as an integral feature within the dosing head by constantly monitoring the pressure within the dosing head.
In the event of loss of chemical to the dosing head or over pressure in the discharge line, the Flow Monitor immediately alarms out on error flow or pressure bar/pressure with a volt free contact available to signal this fault.
When Profibus enabled, all of the above data and faults including dosing pump flow rate, chemical dose and pressure data can be relayed back to a central PLC with remote bus start/stop and in the event of failure of the network, the pump can automatically revert back to 4-20mA analogue control.
Available with flows to 150 lph and pressures to 16 bar, these pumps are dual voltage 110-230v, 50/60hz, IP65 with an optional 24V DC version.
Tosh Singh, Managing Director of Alldos commented "this award is a testament to the forward and innovative thinking of Klaus Mueller and his R+D engineering team in Germany with additional thanks to the Alldos manufacturing plant headed by Walter Schwald".
