The AlfaNova 400, a new 100% stainless steel diffusion bonded plate heat exchanger enhanced specifically for process duties in hostile heating, cooling, evaporating and condensing conditions

Alfa Laval has just launched the AlfaNova 400, a new, larger version of its revolutionary AlfaNova 100% stainless steel plate heat exchanger enhanced specifically for process duties such as heating, cooling, evaporating and condensing where the pressure, temperature or hostile nature of the application prevents the use of a conventional, gasketted exchanger The world's first plate heat exchanger made entirely of stainless steel, the AlfaNova is a gasket-free unit manufactured using AlfaFusion, a diffusion-bonding technology which is itself so innovative that Alfa Laval have patented the process

According to Alfa Laval, AlfaFusion is the result of years of research into materials and brazing technology, conducted in response to customer demands for exchangers offering a combination of compact size, greater mechanical strength, increased resistance to corrosion and higher levels of hygiene.

With its homogenous, all-stainless steel construction, the ability to withstand temperatures as high as 550C and pressures up 28Barg, the AlfaNova 400 is also suitable for a wide range of duties in areas such as refrigeration and sanitary processes where a combination of corrosion resistance and strength are essential.

This latest version also incorporates flanges instead of threaded connections to make it more suitable for use in the process industries.
