New Managing Director for Alfa Laval in the UK

Alfa Laval has announced the appointment of Alex Syed as Managing Director of its UK operation, with effect from the 12th October 2005

Alfa Laval has announced the appointment of Alex Syed as Managing Director of its UK operation, with effect from the 12th October 2005.

He succeeds Nish Patel who is moving within the global Alfa Laval organization to take up the post of Managing Director of Alfa Laval, India.

After joining Alfa Laval in the UK in 1983, Alex Syed spent ten years in a variety of sales and management positions.

He then was promoted to the role of General Manager of the company's Thermal operation in the Asia/Pacific region, from which he moved into executive roles with the company's Swedish and US operation, the last of which was as President of the Equipment Division.

Immediately prior to his latest appointment, he worked within the Alfa Laval Corporate Development operation, overseeing major projects aimed at securing the company's market leading position within its core technologies of high speed separation and heat transfer.
