Not only is the technology efficient in sludge treatment by decreasing the amount of waste for disposal, it also means that less lorries are needed to transport the sludge to its end station.
Did you know that Alfa Laval has installed more than 6,000 decanters to waste water treatment, and is involved in the treatment of sludge from at least 250 million people? There is a further potential since only a fraction of industrial and municipal waste water is cleaned before being handed back to nature.
The recent order, which is valued at about SEK50 million, is the second major waste water order for Canada in 2007.
The equipment is part of an upgrade of the plant dewatering facilities.
Delivery will take place in 2008 and 2009.
