As such, it is ideal for the transfer of delicate and sensitive materials.
The smooth construction of the Optilobe reflects the careful planning that has gone into its design to eliminate flat surfaces and to ensure that CIP is as quick and efficient as possible.
Like the other rotary lobe pumps in the Alfa Laval range, Optilobe is accredited to EHEDG (European Hygienic Design Group) cleanability standards.
It is also conforms to the US 3A sanitary standard.
There are six pump models based on three gearbox sizes in the Optilobe range.
All share the same, simple but high-quality approach to sanitary operations.
All of the media-wetted components in the pump are manufactured from 316L stainless steel.
The gear canister is also stainless while the surface of the bearing housing is nickel plated to provide a bright, paint-free and corrosion-resistant finish.
The simple theme is carried through into the area of service and maintenance.
Shimming is pre-set in the factory and the front-loading mechanical seals can be changed quickly and easily to ensure minimum downtime and production losses.
