A film from Alfa Laval Reactor Technology (ART) enables the chemical and pharmaceutical industries to cut reactors down to size.
Alfa Laval has been able to miniaturise reaction processes so that a process producing 3m3/hr on a continuous basis can be achieved by a piece of equipment measuring less than 0.5m3.
According to Alfa Laval, ART can reduce energy requirements by 70 per cent and waste by up to 50 per cent, while increasing yields by 90 per cent.
By integrating continuous flow with advanced plate heat exchanger technology, the ART Plate Reactor enables safe, environmental and cost-effective process intensification.
