New 'Displacer Replacer' for problem gauges

An Allison Engineering product story

Allison Engineering has introduced a novel idea to replace troublesome displacer level gauges, for the 20% of applications that cause 80% of the problems

Allison Engineering, a specialist supplier of level and flow solutions, has introduced a novel idea to replace troublesome displacer level gauges, for the 20% of applications that cause 80% of the problems.

The nature of displacer level gauges is such that even small changes in the liquid specific gravity, or a build-up of deposits on the displacer, can affect the weight of the displaced liquid, resulting in significant errors, typically requiring torque tube re-set and recalibration.

The K-TEK model AT level transmitter however, is a magnetostrictive device offering +/-1mm accuracy, which can be mounted either externally onto a standard magnetic gauge or internally, within it, using a bridle.

This new system is being used on a growing number of UK processing sites.

Utilising the magnet within the mag gauges, the AT transmitter has no internal moving parts and can measure product level and interface simultaneously.

Suitable for up to 450C and 300 Barg, the AT series transmitters are available Exd or Exia can be coupled with an existing mag gauge or supplied with a new gauge as a complete system.

The Allison range of specialist solutions also includes laser level for bulk solids, pellets, bio-fuel and non-intrusive thermal dispersion switches for low flow slurry monitoring applications.
