AMOT Controls temperature control valves were chosen for fitting to a series of SNCF trains on the French railway in the first phase of a project for the whole fleet of trains: AMOT Controls have offered a quotation for the option for further locomotives, which would bring the total to 2000 valves.

Key feature in the specification was the manual override designed into AMOT 'B' internally sensed temperature valves, allowing manual operation and meeting the SNCF requirement for manual valve operation without any tools in the event of complication.

The AMOT Controls valves offer an economic solution for controlling high and low temperature circuits on the MAN diesel engines; the valves used are of 50mm and 80mm nominal bore.

Self-contained with no need for an external power source, the self-sensing temperature control is accomplished by expansion of a wax/copper mixture with positive proportional valve action.

A leak-tight design eliminates external moving parts and external dynamic seals.

Another feature of the AMOT offer included replaceable seats and sleeves.
