Temperature calibrators for food and beverage
The Jofra ATC-156B dry block temperature calibrator with reference sensor is used extensively in the food and beverage industry
The Jofra ATC-156B dry block temperature calibrator with reference sensor is used extensively in the food and beverage industry.
The accuracy for the ATC-156B has now been improved to +/-0.04C when using the reference input.
Temperature stability has also been improved on the unit from 0.02C to 0.01C and is now guaranteed for a full twelve-month period, for customer peace of mind.
The units also feature a temperature stability countdown timer which starts five minutes before the stability indicator comes on.
This helps the user to know when to take readings from the sensor-under-test.
Accurate temperature calibration is important in the food and beverage industry as part of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) and also ensures processes running at the optimum temperature (too low could compromise hygiene and too high results in wasted energy and higher costs).
Typical applications include aseptic filling of bottles, barrels and other containers, and cleaning of bottles and steel kegs.
The temperature used for a cleaning process is 90C, although different cleaning fluids can be used according to the application.
Temperature sensor accuracy requires a difference lower than -0.5K.
Temperatures required for pasteurisation processes are generally between 70C and 80C, depending on flow.
However, the accuracy of the temperature sensor must have a difference of less than -0.3K.
The performance of the ATC-156B with a reference sensor more than meets these requirements.
