Jofra calibrator with DNV marine certification

An Ametek Calibration Instruments product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Sep 19, 2007

The Jofra ATC series of dry block temperature calibrators is now certified to comply with the DNV Rules for classification of ships, high speed and light craft and DNV Offshore Standards

The ATC Series joins the Jofra MTC, CTC and ETC series of temperature calibrators, also available from Ametek Calibration Instruments, and the FP-1800 Series of marine sensors which already have DNV certification.

Fully certified ship-based temperature calibration not only fulfills safety regulations but brings a number of additional benefits.

These include traceability, energy saving and pollution reduction.

Regular calibration brings optimum machine operation and efficiency, reduces unexpected repair and replacement and prevents turndowns of machinery.

The ATC series of calibrators offers a wider temperature calibration range (-90 to 650C) and improved stability (+ 0.01C over a 12 month period for most models) for marine calibration.

It utilises innovative dual-zone heating technology for precision calibration of sensors.

Independent heating control allows the lower zone to ensure optimum heat dissipation throughout the entire calibration zone, while the upper zone compensates for heat loss from the sensor-under- test and the open top.

This design also eliminates the need for insulation of the sensors-under-test and allows calibration of liquid-filled and other mechanical sensors.
