With the increasing demand for greater computing power, Advantech has launched a series of Panel PCs based on Intel Pentium 4 processors As multi-tasking, high-speed networking and other processor-intensive applications in multimedia, gaming, and Point of Information (POI) becomes more common, the market for such powerful Panel PCs is rapidly growing

The three new Panel PCs are the P4-M-based 15" PPC-S154T, and the P4-based 17" PPC-174T and 15" PPC-154T.

Advantech Panel PCs are differentiating themselves in the market with their ready-to-go embedded Microsoft Windows OS, more inputs and outputs, a flexible selection of data storage devices (such as 6-in-1 card readers).

The company's background in industrial-grade equipment is also showing.

The front panels of all the Panel PCs are well protected with IP65/NEMA4 ratings.

This means they are totally dust proof and protected against water jets.

The protection against water jets probably helped winning a recent project in Europe, where the PPC-S154T was selected as the order entry and POI terminal in a restaurant chain.

The PPC-S154T was installed in the bar, and at dining tables for self-service ordering and promotional information broadcasting.

This was greatly appreciated by customers as they no longer had to wait to be served and take orders.

The menu could also be studied.

The PPC-174T has also been part of a project win.

Integrated in the control system of coating equipment, the PPC-174T helps to run multiple programs at the same time.

However, the versatile inputs and outputs were the most critical selection criteria.

For easy integration and future expansions, the PPC-174T proved to be the best choice. Request a free brochure from Advantech (UK) ...
