Teleonix - a web-based remote monitoring system
Applied Weighing, the UK manufacturer of load cells and supplier of industrial weighing systems, has added a compact and easy-to-use telemetry system to its range of tank and vessel weighing systems
Applied Weighing, the UK's leading manufacturer of load cells and supplier of industrial weighing systems, has recently added a compact and easy-to-use telemetry system to its comprehensive range of tank and vessel weighing systems.
Teleonix provides cost-effective central monitoring for weighing systems or any other kind of measuring device at an unlimited number of remote locations.
Web-based, the system can be used for example to monitor stock levels in silos or view the alarm status of equipment such as pumps or even rising acidity levels.
Offering improved logistics management, Teleonix paves the way for real and effective co-operation between customers and suppliers of raw materials, particularly for multi-site operations.
Suppliers with access to the internet can view stock levels at sites across the UK or abroad, and use the information to plan tanker journeys more effectively.
Early notification of unexpected fluctuations in demand and prompt action ensures 'out of stock' situations do not occur.
Compact and versatile, the Teleonix system can be retro-fitted to most existing weighing and measuring or level detecting systems.
Fully operational in just a few hours, it can be used to monitor a wide range of raw materials stored in vessels, silos or tanks within the food industry, fuel distribution, cement, chemicals and plastics.
Product levels can also be recorded and tracked, making the system suitable for use across a wide range of industrial applications.
Easy to operate, the Teleonix system delivers regularly timed reporting on stock levels.
This data is transferred via GPRS and is forwarded to a secure web page that can be accessed remotely via the internet by any number of authorised personnel.
Security is assured with each user having a designated password and access by named individuals can be restricted to their area of responsibility, with senior personnel having wider access.
Information is presented graphically and the data is fully compatible with standard spreadsheets and databases.
In addition to providing a simple status update, Teleonix can be used to provide statistical data.
For example, trending data can be produced for each silo or site and exported into an Excel speadsheet.
The system can also be set to alert key personnel when pre-determined levels are reached or alarms have been activated .
At the critical point, the system will generate an e-mail or telephone message to designated mobile phone users alerting personnel to sudden surges in demand resulting in stock levels falling faster than anticipated or failure of equipment such as pumps.
Cost effective, Teleonix utilises GPRS to transfer its data and does not require a PC connection at the remote site.
Installation is carried out by Applied Weighing engineers and can be completed in a few hours.
With the option of painted mild steel, stainless steel or plastics casing, each unit can be used to monitor up to 16 silos, with no upper limit on the number of sites.
