Reading factory extension for Applied Weighing

Applied Weighing, providers of a complete range of high performance and custom built weighing solutions and systems, are doubling the production capacity of their factory in Reading

This extension, which is due to be operational within the next month, is located directly next door to the original Applied Weighing head office and manufacturing site.

The new unit will extend the production facilities to double the existing capacity and is an integral part of restructuring operations to improve competitiveness.

Outlining the expansion, Applied Weighing Managing Director, John Treacy said: "The new factory represents an investment in our continued growth, an expansion designed to consolidate our position as the UK's leading manufacturer and supplier of process weighing equipment and load cells.

The extension to the existing factory is part of our ongoing plans to become increasingly environmentally friendly, and will utilise 'green' manufacturing techniques where practical".

The company understands that their first class reputation has been built on the high quality manufacturing of all their load cells and weighing systems and this expansion will allow them to guarantee all their equipment continues to be manufactured in the UK, ensuring total quality control.

Applied Weighing, which was first established in 1990, provides a complete range of weighing solutions and systems.

These are custom built to meet individual customer requirements.

Their range includes platform scales, silo and vessel weighing systems, drum filling systems, high speed weighing systems, telemetry systems and load cells.

Applied Weighing products are used in a diverse variety of industry areas including pharmaceutical, food processing, milling and bakeries, aggregates and cement, fuel oils, chemicals and plastics.
