At-line analysis in the food and
beverage industry
The Metrohm 'ProcessLab' is a new at line analyser to follow on in the success of the Titrando range of laboratory titrators
The system uses well established hardware and software, including the Titrando titrator and tiamo software ProcessLab can be used at several different points in the manufacturing process: the system will automatically analyse pH, acid value and salt content, and the industrial PC and I/O controller send information to process control systems

Analysis of acids and bases by titration At-Line
The analysis of acids and bases is a well-known basic task in analytical chemistry: with this fully automated system only the sample needs to be taken and weighed in by the user
ProcessLab can also be equipped with a high speed homogeniser for dissolution of solid samples as well as hot water to help dissolve powders for analysis, e.g instant soup.
Typical analyses for these are pH, acid value, chloride content as well as such parameters as vitamin C value.
All of this analysis is carried out in the ProcessLab, without operator intervention, and results are relayed to the process controller so remedial action or pass / failure for product quality is regulated automatically.
