Applikon Analytical has added the Alert Colorimeter for Nitrate to its Alert range.
The nitrite concentration of water leaving drinking water works must be monitored and the Alert Colorimeter for Nitrate can be supplemented with the Alert Colorimeter for Nitrite for full compliance monitoring.
The Alert Colorimeter for Nitrite uses differential absorbance colorimetry (DAC) methodology to prevent background sample colour or turbidity affecting the analysis.
The working range is 0.3 - 150 ug/l with a cycle time of around twenty minutes.
The running costs are kept to a minimum by low reagent use, typically one ml per analysis for each reagent and minimal consumables.
Attendance for planned maintenance is usually carried out on an annual basis.
