With more than 15 years product, sales and marketing experience in the field of water and wastewater treatment, including nine years specifically developing new markets for UV technologies, Abernethy is ideally suited to the position.
Most recently, he served as President of MS Filter, an Ontario based manufacturer of multi-stage water filtration technology.
In this position, he oversaw the growth of the start-up company, with successful installations throughout Canada.
Abernethy has been very active during his career promoting new water and wastewater technologies throughout Canada.
He was a founding member of the International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA), and also holds memberships in the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the Water Environment Federation (WEF), and the International Ozone Association (IOA).
Abernethy earned a Master of Business Administration degree with a Marketing major from York University (Toronto) and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Geo-Engineering from the University of Toronto.
In addition, he is a Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in the Province of Ontario.
