STW record order for wastewater sampling units
Aquamatic has completed the delivery of over 100 portable wastewater samplers to Severn Trent Water, in what is believed to be one of the largest single sampler orders ever seen in Europe
The first sampler to meet the stringent requirements of E32, the Automatic Sampling Equipment specification for the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive, is the Aquamatic P2 Coolbox, which enables the collection and storage of samples at the required 0-50C.
The sampler, which is also used extensively by Severn Trent and many other water companies, has successfully completed the WRC rigorous test programme, to demonstrate compliance with the Environment Agency E32 Technical Report.
Graham Wilson, Contracts Manager for AES commented: "AES invested in the Aquacell P2 Coolbox because of its E32 compliance.

Self-emptying wastewater sampler saves labour time
According to Aquamatic, there is a misconception by some companies that the introduction of a wastewater-sampling regime will require a considerable amount of labour and record keeping
Its excellent performance in many demanding environments has borne out the good reputation of the Aquamatic sampling equipment in the water and environment sectors".
For the multiple-sampler user who needs 24-hour composite samples from various sites, the Aquacell P2-Coolbox is ideal.
It enables samplers to be distributed at different locations before the sample is required, and then collected later when the sample has been taken - safe in the knowledge that storage will be at the right temperature.
Unlike many battery-powered samplers, which require samples to be collected after just one or two days, Aquamatic P2 Coolbox allows wastewater to be stored for up to five days.
An integral sample temperature monitoring facility can also be supplied with the Aquacell P2-Coolbox, to give the user the facility of displaying average, actual, maximum and minimum temperatures.
In addition, this first ever E32-compliant portable sampler can be equipped with an RS232 computer download facility, enabling spot samples to be logged and accessed, together with a record of the sampler's own activity.
The P2-Coolbox is just part of the Aquamatic proven product portfolio, which offers a comprehensive choice of portable and stationary samplers, based around a single sampler module.
Analytical and Environmental Services (AES), which is part of Northumbrian Water Group plc, provides a range of high quality monitoring analysis and technical consultancy services throughout the UK and Ireland.
