Wet escape system passes toughest test
The Ansul LVS-15 liquid agent escape system to soak a vehicle operator and the route to safety in the event of otherwise disastrous heat build-up and fire, has already proved its value
The Ansul LVS-15 liquid agent escape system, which soaks a vehicle operator and the route to safety in the event of otherwise disastrous heat build-up and fire, currently available from Ardent UK, has already proved its value in tests of the most challenging environments.
Tyco Safety Products tested the LVS-15 potential as an escape assistance system in the extremely challenging environment of metal foundries and steel mills, where the risk of transport equipment becoming disabled in hot molten slag or encountering accidental spillage demands an improved means of operator escape from the danger.
The manually operated system can have up to 12 nozzles providing a freeze protected wet discharge soaking the operator prior to exiting a vehicle and also wetting the egress path to minimise heat build-up.
It is intended for use in conjunction with other safety equipment such as heat resistant footwear, fire retardant clothing and safety hoods with integral breathing apparatus, which must be operative before escape assistance system is activated.
