ARI-Armaturen has announced the availability of the new Astra-Plus bellows sealed, flow regulating valve using a metal to metal seat for extreme conditions up to +350C

ARI-Armaturen UK Limited, worldwide leaders in the manufacture and supply of process valves, has announced the availability of the new Astra-Plus bellows sealed, flow regulating valve with a significantly enhanced range of applications.

Designed with a new metal bellows seal (DN 15-200) and high performance metal-to-metal seat, the Astra-Plus can perform under the toughest service conditions.

The ARI range of flow regulating valves delivers economical regulation with digitally controlled precision.

Tony Harrison, operations manager at the ARI-Armaturen UK headquarters in Tewkesbury, said, "The new Astra-Plus flow valve is ideally suited to heating and air conditioning facilities for the control of flow and pressure, of thermal fluids.

Its enhanced safety features provide customers with a dependable seal for the toughest conditions.

The standard application range of the Astra-Plus is max.

+175 C, but with its metal-to-metal seat it is also available for an application range to a staggering +350C".

The new valve is available in nominal diameters from DN 15 to DN 400.

From a nominal diameter of DN 200 mm the valve has a position indicator instead of the digital display.

From DN 250 the spindle is sealed by gland packing and the V-port plug allows differential pressures in excess of 2 bar.

The Astra-Plus is available in nodular iron GGG-40.3.

The new valve meets the technical requirements specified in DIN EN 12953-2, -6 (large waterspace boilers), TRD 110 (valve bodies), TRD 108 (cast iron with nodular graphite, notched bar impact work), TRB 801 No.

45 and DIN EN 1563 (cast iron with nodular graphite).

Key benefits of the new Astra-Plus flow valves include.

* Safety - the metal bellows seal provides a reliable seal in compliance, making it suitable for tough service conditions.

* High operating temperature - the Astra-Plus has a maximum operating temperature of 175C, and is available for an application range of up to +350C on request, suitable for very high temperature water or thermal fluid systems.

* Precision adjustment - fine adjustment ensures precise positioning of the valve, to give accurate and consistent balancing of the process fluid, for improved operational efficiency.

* Characteristic - the valve has an equal percentage characteristic, spreading the effective operating range of the valve over the almost the whole length of the travel, allowing easy and accurate positioning of the valve for a particular flow rate/pressure drop.

* Metal-to-metal seating - enables the valve to operate at high temperature and is incompressible (errors are eliminated), leading to highly accurate setting.

* Tappings - provided in flanges to facilitate DP measurement using instruments.

* Insulation - the advanced design also considers insulation, and the exterior of the valve is shaped to be easily and effectively insulated, saving time on installation and energy during operation.
