The Reliance Petroleum mega Polypropylene project

Aker Kvaerner is providing project management, procurement and engineering services for a new polypropylene plant to be built by Reliance Petroleum in a Special Economic Zone in Jamnagar, in India

The plant is expected to be the largest capacity polypropylene facility to date, and will take propylene feed from a newly developed (grass roots) refinery complex.

The expansion includes two new polypropylene lines each with a nameplate capacity of 450,000 tonnes per annum.

The Aker Kvaerner AK Process business is providing the basic engineering and project management for the overall Aker Kvaerner scope.

Aker Kvaerner Powergas India in Mumbai is providing the detailed design and engineering services.

The project will use UNIPOL PP Technology from The Dow Chemical Company.

The project is scheduled for completion and start-up in 2008.

We also provided the basic and detailed engineering plus procurement services for their recently commissioned purified terephthalic acid (PTA) project at Hazira, also in Gujarat.

We have successfully implemented a wide range of polypropylene and PTA projects in conjunction with our Aker Kvaerner Powergas office in India".
