Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) announces two new dates for the Certified AS-Interface Engineer Course of 6-7 October 2005 and 16-17 January 2006

Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) announces two new dates for the Certified AS-Interface Engineer Course of 6-7th October 2005 and 16-17th January 2006 The course, which is accredited by the AS-Interface Expert Alliance, now runs over 1.5 days and has been significantly expanded to include material on the V3.0 standard, installation, fault finding and the use of diagnostic tools such as analysers and oscilloscopes

Using a hands-on, practical approach engineers learn how to use AS-i intelligent sensors, actuators and remote I/O in the most efficient and effective way, and see how to integrate AS-i into higher-level fieldbuses.

Delegates also build, configure and exercise their own AS-i system from scratch.

The course also includes an overview of the AS-i 'Safety at Work' profile which allows AS-Interface networks to be used in safety-critical systems such as emergency stop and machine protection systems.

High standards of competency are ensured by written and practical tests.

Successful graduates receive a 'Certified AS-i Engineer' certificate.

The course is designed for engineers and technicians who are involved in the planning and installation of fieldbus networks.

No previous knowledge of AS-i is required.

However, even experienced fieldbus engineers will gain valuable knowledge on how to get the best from the technology.

The course costs GBP545 per person (GBP475 for AS-Interface Expert Alliance members).
