Using a hands-on, practical approach engineers learn how to use AS-i intelligent sensors, actuators and remote I/O in the most efficient and effective way, and see how to integrate AS-i into higher-level fieldbuses.
Delegates also build, configure and exercise their own AS-i system from scratch.
The course also includes an overview of the AS-i 'Safety at Work' profile which allows AS-Interface networks to be used in safety-critical systems such as emergency stop and machine protection systems.
High standards of competency are ensured by written and practical tests.
Successful graduates receive a 'Certified AS-i Engineer' certificate.
The course is designed for engineers and technicians who are involved in the planning and installation of fieldbus networks.
No previous knowledge of AS-i is required.
However, even experienced fieldbus engineers will gain valuable knowledge on how to get the best from the technology.
The course costs GBP545 per person (GBP475 for AS-Interface Expert Alliance members).
