AS-Interface UK has announces next years ASi-tech Conference and Exhibition, at cricketing venues in Durham and Gloucestershire: products and solutions will be on show, with contributions from users
AS-Interface will have a booth in the tabletop exhibition running alongside the conference and will be presenting a paper about the networking benefits of using the two technologies side by side based on real-life applications.
Expert Alliance Chairman Geoff Hodgkinson said: "AS-Interface has an installed base of around 12-13 million devices and dominates the device level networking arena.
This number is only slightly less than Profibus, which dominates the higher level fieldbus market.

'Expert Alliance' to offer free advice and support
The AS-Interface UK Association is re-launching itself as the AS-Interface 'Expert Alliance' at Drives and Controls, October 12-14, Telford, where it will be explained on the AS-Interface stand
The two technologies work superbly well together, with AS-Interface providing connectivity for low level devices such as sensors, actuators and functional safety elements such as emergency stops.
Data from an AS-interface network is easily passed upwards into a Profibus network, providing transparent connectivity for higher level control systems.
Profibus UK Chairman Bob Squirrell said: "We are delighted to welcome the Expert Alliance on board.
For many years the two technologies have worked side by side to bring massive benefits for automation users.
We know that AS-Interface can link with other fieldbus solutions too but the fact is that the Profibus+AS-Interface is probably the world's best known combination.
We are therefore proud to be presenting them at our event.
Having the two together will also offer a more compelling attraction for delegates.
Where else today could you go to see two world beaters in action together?" Hodgkinson continued: "It's a natural step for us to attend the Profibus event.
We'll have working Profibus+AS-Interface networks on show and we'll be explaining the latest developments, including our V3 specification which considerably extends AS-I functionality in areas such as parameterisation, data exchange, analogue connectivity and higher node counts.
We'll also be showing the AS-I SW technology which is a even less costly, fully compatible, AS-Interface solution for connecting switches and indicators inside control cabinets.
This technology is new to the English market.
In the conference our paper will focus on the Functional Safety benefits of using the two technologies together".
