Aspectrics announces that its MultiComponent Encoded Photometric Infrared Spectroscopy (EP-IR) analyser has been named as one of the Top 100 technologically significant products of the year

Aspectrics, the innovator of Encoded Photometric Infrared Spectroscopy (EP-IR) analysers, announces that its EP-IR MultiComponent Analyser has been named by R and D Magazine as one of the Top 100 most technologically significant products introduced into the marketplace over the past year These 100 products from around the world are selected each year as the most technologically significant products of the year

Designed to meet the needs of scientists working in the process industries, the Aspectrics patented encoder disk technology enables ultra fast scanning capability, with 100 scans per second, and allows manufacturers to monitor processes in real-time.

The EP-IR MultiComponent Analyser was noted at the awards for its impressive spectral range, its 128 photometric channels and the fast scan rate.

Additionally, the Aspectrics innovative analysers include a standard suite of software solutions, resulting in quicker and more efficient real-time data acquisition, as well as instrument control, data play back and quantitation.

A variety of sampling accessories are also available to facilitate rapid integration of the MultiComponent Analyser to any process application.

Paul Salsgiver, president and CEO, Aspectrics says: "Recognition by the R and D 100 award panel for the EP-IR MultiComponent Analyser performance is testament to our technological expertise and our focus on delivering the most powerful analytical solutions that make a real difference in many real-time process applications for our customers".

"The RandD 100 Award is an important milestone for Aspectrics," indicated John Coates, a recognized consultant and advisor to the instrumentation business: "It is not only a recognition by important people close to the industry, but it is also a statement relative to the state-of-the-art of the technology and its ability to meet technical challenges of modern day process monitoring applications.

The technology and the associated products are a major step forward in terms of size (compact design), speed of data acquisition and data presentation, a cost.

The system provides FTIR performance or better, at a higher speed, with the cost, simplicity and robustness of a simple non-dispersive IR (NDIR) system.

It is anticipated that EPIR will provide an important replacement technology for existing FTIR and NDIR systems, and will open up new areas of application based on cost, size and performance considerations".

The R and D 100 Awards were established in 1963 to identify the 100 most technologically significant new products in the market place in a given year.

Over the years, the R and D 100 Awards have recognised winning products with such household names as the fax machine (1975), the printer (1986), the Kodak Photo CD (1991), the Taxol anticancer drug (1993) and HDTV (1998).
