Three phase stepper motor and driver is smooth
Stepper motors are commonly seen in two or four phase designs, but Astrosyn International Technology has launched an advanced three phase motor with driver, offering smooth operation
It offers full step and microstep operation to 2000 steps/rev, and incorporates an auto current reduction mode.
The drive also features a novel anti-resonance adjustment.
Mechanical resonance can be a problem when stepper motors are required to operate at low speeds, causing audible noise and vibration of the motor.
However, a potentiometer on the P210 can be fine tuned manually to smooth out this uneven operation.
"This low cost drive is ideal for applications where space is limited," said Simon Hunt, Astrosyn technical sales director.
"We are already receiving a lot of interest from the packaging and machine tool industries".
The supply voltage range is from 24V to 80V and the drive is simple to install.
