Atrion PCS aids global regulations compliance

Atrion International has won several new customers for its product compliance suite (PCS), on-demand solutions and regulatory services, including business process outsourcing (BPO).

The companies chose to partner with Atrion to efficiently address Reach and GHS regulatory compliance demands without heavy investments in human resources or highly customised systems.

Included in the list of new customers is Kluber Lubrication, headquartered in Munich, Germany.

Kluber develops and manufactures lubricant specialities for most industries and markets, including automotive, food and pharma applications, the maritime sector, wind power-stations, base materials and the textile industry.

Dr Sylvia Huber, head of material safety within Kluber's material compliance management department, said: 'With operations that span Europe, South America, North America and the Asia-Pacific, staying on top of changing regulations that differ between each of these regions was becoming quite a challenge to our team.

'For instance, in addition to the new regulations recently introduced in Europe, Asia-Pacific is currently issuing its own regulations and in the future will no longer accept safety sheets and labelling based on European regulations.

'This region now requires all companies to comply with their local version of GHS and a similar request is expected from South America.

'Atrion's PCS solution will help us to ensure in-time compliance across all regions, with access to the most comprehensive, up-to-date global regulatory content currently available.

Dr Huber added that the solution will enable Kluber to automate more steps in its business processes, such as the authoring of its material safety sheets.

'This is of particular importance since local GHS variations require regulatory checks and adoptions that would be impossible to do manually for each of our more than 1,000 products.

'Facing the new challenges posed by GHS, the process automation that Atrion's PCS provides will greatly support us in preserving our accuracy and efficiency and save us considerable time.
