The Qwik Conveyor, the on-site changeable system

An Automation Supplies product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Oct 24, 2007

Ever wished that you could take a wide variety of product weights and widths reliably around a conveyor bend of a site adjustable angle?

The Qwik Conveyor: Could this be the last conveyor system you ever need? Got an area of your factory that's full of belt conveyors at 90deg angles to each other? Products getting snagged and belts wearing out when changing from one belt to the other? Ever wished that you could take a wide variety of product weights and widths reliably around a bend of 45degrees: no, make that 60degrees: no, 30degrees: well even better if you could change it yourself later.

Wouldn't it be great not to have to worry about belt alignment on even the longest stretches? Wouldn't it be fantastic to have a conveyor up to a metre wide that could take several bends but only uses one drive? A crazy wish list? It's the one that the Dorner engineers had when designing the 5200 series conveyor, now introduced as the Qwik Conveyor! November is the month that Automation Supplies will launch the Qwik Conveyor in the UK.

We believe the sky's the limit because this conveyor is loaded with features.

The Qwik Conveyor is a modular plastic belt conveyor platform that could be the last conveyor system that industrial, automation and packaging customers will need to buy.

Why? Because it can be configured, - and reconfigured, to just about any layout you can think of.

It's a major innovation in conveyor design.

With a saw and a cordless screwdriver, customers can shorten or lengthen the conveyor, change the curve configuration, you name it.

In no time at all, the line is back up and running.

Accessory features are designed-in, so controls and accessories are easily integrated.

Air and wire management systems are also designed-in, and a patented sprocket alignment key makes quick work of sprocket and belt alignment.

The 5200 series can be seen in detail on the website.

The Qwik Conveyor comes in sizes and capacities to handle almost any application, and the contained belt eliminates sag and reduces pinch points.

5200 Features:.

* Modular 15deg curve segments and side rail design make reconfiguration quick and easy.

* Qwik slots make mounting controls and accessories simple.

* Easy frame reconfiguration with no drilling required.

* Patented sprocket alignment key for quick belt alignment.

* Completely contained belt reduces pinch points.

* Nose bar option for small parts transfer.

The general specifications are:.

Straight flat modular plastic belt and cleated modular plastic belt models.

Curved flat plastic modular belt models.

Conveyor widths in curves from 203 mm to 914 mm in 50mm increments and on straights from 203 mm to a massive 1524 mm in 50mm increments.

Lengths on straights up to a mighty 25.4 metres with one drive, depending on the product being conveyed.

Load Capacity ; straights: up to 453 kg and curves up to 226 kg.

These revolutionary conveyors answer the needs of the most demanding environments in automated assembly, packaging, accumulation, sortation, machine part handling, curing, cooling, heating and cleaning.
