ABB scores double at Pump Industry Awards

ABB has received two awards at the Pump Industry Awards 2008.

It received the Supplier of the Year Award for the second year running, as well as seeing its drives and pumps specialist Geoff Brown recognised for his work in the industry.

The Supplier of the Year Award is backed by the British Pump Manufacturers' Association (BPMA).

Steve Ruddell, general manager for ABB's drives and motors business, said: 'The penetration of drives into the pump industry is growing rapidly, and we have invested heavily in new drive technology for pump applications.

A Judges' Special Award for services to the pump industry was presented to Geoff Brown, in recognition of his 40 years' dedication to developing and promoting pump and drive technology.

He has achieved the position of chairman of the Gambica Drives Group technical working group and has helped extend the knowledge of a generation of engineers by contributing to a number of guides to aspects of drive engineering.
