New UK valve factory open for business

An AVK UK product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Jan 3, 2008

The AVK UK operations have moved to a new, purpose-built valve manufacturing facility in Staveley, near Chesterfield

Opened by North East Derbyshire MP Natascha Engel, the 70,000 sq ft factory incorporates the latest energy-saving technology and a layout tried and tested at similar AVK Group plants in Poland, Australia and China.

As well as continuing to receive products that meet (and often exceed) British, national and International standards, customers can expect improved supply chain support and immediately accessible technical information, in person or from the new AVK UK website.

Staveley assembles, tests and finishes components manufactured by other AVK Group companies - pressure-tight valve bodies from AVK Polska, other structural parts from AVK Valves (Anhui) in China, and rubber seals from AVK Gummi in Denmark.

The plant has four parallel production cells, with the capacity to produce hundreds of valve type and size variants, that are manned by a highly trained, versatile workforce - they move from job to job and cell to cell to meet the customer needs of the moment.

Before receiving a final paint finish every completed valve is tested for internal and external pressure-tightness, complementing earlier rigorous inspection of every part during its own manufacturing cycle.
