Yorkshire Water buyers see AVK facilities

Key purchasing decision-makers from Yorkshire Water have visited AVK Group valve manufacturing facilities in the UK and Denmark

Head of procurement Malcolm Sykes, technical manager Ian Whittaker and logistics manager David Brown saw the ISO 9001-accredited manufacturing plant in Corby and the adjacent National Distribution Centre.

In Denmark, they visited AVK headquarters in Galten, Denmark and AVK Gummi, where rubber seals and encapsulated wedges for the Group's valves and fittings are manufactured.

"We have had a framework supply contract with Yorkshire Water for gate valves and fire hydrants for four years now and supply other products on an ad hoc basis, so we thought it would consolidate the good working relationships we have formed by giving our principal contacts an insight into our business" said Lisa Coltman, AVK UK's national account manager for water.
