Avtron Manufacturing, a worldwide leader in heavy-duty encoder products, has secured the latest ATEX certification for its line of M6 magnetic incremental encoders.

These units are certified to the "enhanced safety" requirement, for use in potentially explosive gas environments.

Because the M6 is flameproof, it can contain and suppress ignition inside the encoder enclosure.

No additional intrinsic safety barriers or current limiting wiring is required.

Available in solid shaft/coupled designs, as well as hollow shaft/tethered units for direct motor and shaft mounting, the M6 heavy duty encoder from Avtron is ideal for demanding process applications wherever the risk of explosive gas is present.

Made of solid machined aluminium, with heavy duty construction and oversize bearings, the M6 can stand up to the toughest environments from corrosive coating and refinery areas to offshore oil well platforms.

The M6 uses magnetic encoder technology which enables it to stand up to rough environments; ordinary optical encoders can malfunction due to condensation, oil vapour, or even dust and dirt contamination.

The Avtron M6 permits a broad range of voltage input, from 5 to 24VDC, and can interface to virtually any drive or speed feedback system available today.

Avtron Manufacturing offers worldwide sales and 24x365 support for users, OEMs, and integrators.

Sales support is available both direct from the factory, and through our worldwide network of sales representatives and distributors.
