Extra generator added on site
AVK have just added a further 1000kVA Generator to an existing installation of 2 x 1000kVA Generators for a major European Bank
The existing Generators Switchgear and Mimic were located in the basement, with the new 1000kVA Generator located in the ground floor of a multi-storey car-park.
A new bulk tank was also supplied mounted in the basement of the car-park just under the Generator.
The exhaust system included a precipitator filter mounted on the roof of the container with a flue up through the car-park floors to the roof garden.
The precipitator filter is designed to reduce the levels of carbon monoxides, hydrocarbons, and particulate matter present within the exhaust output of a diesel engine by use of an oxidation process.
Whilst the MTU engine has one of the most clean outputs, meeting the TA Luff regulations, AVK further reduced the level of pollution by introducing the precipitator filter as requested by the District Council.
New switchgear was also supplied and coupled to the main switchboard by busbar ducting.
The synchronisation of the three generators was achieved using CAN BUS control, this allows for a fail safe control system as not one control relies on the other to provide synchronisation which avoids single point of failure.
