PetroChina desulphurises gasoline for
the Olympics
PetroChina has put on-stream the first Prime-G+ gasoline desulphurisation unit in China, installed in record time!
The total project time was only 14 months The kick-off meeting for the basic design of the new 90 ton per hour unit was held in March 2007, and the unit was oiled-in in May 2008 after only 5 months of construction
The process treats 100% Fluid Catalytic Cracked naphtha and produces a gasoline component with less than 30 ppm of sulphur.
The octane loss with the unit is very low in accordance with expectations.
This project was carried out on an extremely fast track and has produced superb results.
Both Axens and PetroChina were committed from the very beginning to produce a showcase project that would provide the Beijing area with ultra-low sulphur gasoline in time for the 2008 Olympics.
